Westringia fruticosa Prostrate

Westringia fruticosa Prostrate (Coastal Rosemary) is an exceptionally hardy, evergreen groundcover native to Australia that typically grows to a height of 10–30 cm and spreads between 1 and 2 metres. It is highly valued for its dense mat of soft, grey-green foliage and small white to pale mauve flowers that bloom throughout the year.

Growing Requirements

This plant is "bulletproof" in many conditions, particularly in coastal or exposed sites

Uses in the Garden

• Groundcover & Weed Suppression: Its dense habit naturally outcompetes weeds.

• Erosion Control: Useful for stabilizing banks and slopes.

• Wildlife Support: Attractive to butterflies and harmless native bees.

• Spillover: Looks excellent cascading over retaining walls or in large patio pots.

Avoid "hard pruning" into old wood, as Westringia typically only regenerates from soft, leafy growth.
