Appearance
Grows to about 1 meter tall and wide
Has fibrous roots and a thick, spreading underground rhizome
Leaves are bluish-green, strap-like, and can be 10–75 cm long
Flowers are star-shaped, whitish blue to dark blue, and have six petals
Berries are indigo-colored, globose, and contain several black seeds
Growing conditions
Adapts to a range of conditions, including full sun to partial shade and various soil types
Prefers un-mulched sites
